Wandering in Wisconsin

Lost, Not me, I am wandering!

I am wandering, not lost! “All that is gold does not glitter; not all that wander are lost” the poem by J.R.R. Tolkien for The Lord of the Rings novel written in 1954. ” Especially relevant is the second line, which describes me perfectly!

 A little background information

“Nature photographer”, is the response  I give when asked about my photography. It is easier for people to understand.  I take hundreds of  photographs everyday, never knowing  what sorts of photos I will end up with at the end of the day.   Being outside renews my soul and I find purpose again, I love being outside. To cut to the chase, being outsides allows me to wander and I wander a lot….ALOT!  just to take photographs. I started a Facebook page called Sunday Mornings. Sunday  is my day to wander. On Sunday mornings, I take photos, then go home and post the photos on Facebook. So thrilled over the positive response I have received. Back to the real subject…..wandering.

Wisconsin Wander

Roads unknown

I don’t feel lost, even when I don’t know where I am or how to get back home.   Somehow, I mange to find my way out every time. Thus, I am wandering, I am not lost.  I am  often ask me “where did you go? How did you end up there? Are you lost?” Again, the answer is nope, I am never afraid, I am not lost.   The best part of my day is usually when I find a great spot to take a photo and I have no idea how I actually got there.

Tolkien’s intended meaning of  “not all who wander are  lost” is not my focus. Words are inspirational. No matter what the author truly meant,  the reader will interpret them in their own way for their own use. For me, this line from J. R. R. Tolkein’s Lord of The Rings poem speaks right to my soul. I am wandering, I  am not lost. When I am wandering, I am at my best. There are no strings. I am in the “zone” creating, wandering around capturing moments that speak to my soul. Truth is, my soul speaks louder than my fears!

In conclusion, Don’t worry, I am not lost. I am wandering.

Enjoy your day!
